The Kersley Farmers' Institute is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025.
Check back for our special celebration events throughout the year.
Greetings Members of the Cariboo Agricultural Community,
We’d like to invite you to help celebrate a birthday! The Kersley Farmers’ Institute will be 100 years old in 2025, and the Directors are planning, among other activities, to create a memory book in its honour.
We envision this book to be a collection of agriculture-related stories from you, whether you’re new to the area or are as old as the hills. Stories can be short or long (maybe not too long), just as long as they have a Cariboo food/farming connection. Is there a particular incident or memory that you’d like to share—a surprise birth from a mare that you’ve been trying to breed for a dozen years, or an entire neighbourhood coming to your rescue when a spring grass fire got out of control?
If photos would enhance the story, we’d very much welcome them. Of course, photographs from all eras of Cariboo agriculture would also be of interest.
We’re hoping you won’t put this off until the holiday rush swamps you. Instead, start thinking of one of those special stories that has stayed with you forever. Send it to us as a a plain text or Word Document by email: KersleyFI@gmail.com
